Only in one day, you will remember and experience again all your sadness and happiness you had in your life.
Moreover, the show in Hoi An takes place at the end of the year so it has a special meaning. This is the time to look back the whole year 2018 and start the year 2019 with new targets and amazing experiences.
Memento Mori Hoi An show includes three parts:
+ Contemporary dance/ singing/ playing the kanhi (a traditional instrument of Cham people) with the participation of 5 artists: Nguyen Ninh, Ngo Thanh Phuong, Nguyen Chung, Thanh Lam, and Chinh Ba.
+ A play with the actors: Maika (Van), Pham Thi Hue (Lien), Nguyen Phuong Chi (Ha), and Kenchi (Nam).
+ A talk show with Dang Hoang Giang, the author of the book “Diem den cua cuoc doi” and the director of Memento Mori show Marcus Manh Cuong Vu.
The play of Memento Mori Hoi An expresses the life slices of four characters. They are Nam – a sensitive boy, Ha – Nam’s mother who is trying to find the meaning of life after terrible occurrences, Lien – a young girl who is longing to be loved and Van – who cannot leave her two daughters. The special thing is that all of them aim to the same destination – death.
The play of Memento Mori debuted in April in Ho Chi Minh City. Then, it continued in June in Da Nang and Hanoi. And the latest destination was the night in September in Da Lat. Due to the human nature message and the sincere way of communicating with the audiences, it impressed both audiences and the media.
A story about Hue
Pham Thi Hue (Lien role) is one of the special characters of Memento Mori Hoi An. She has been living with cancer for 6 years in her real life. Despite that, she is always positive about life. She has completed 4-year university program and participated in many social projects to share her feelings and help people have the insight of cancer.
Once she has said “ I try to live a hundred years on every day I live and prepare for tomorrow to live or die. Death will come one day but I don’t know when and how. So should we welcome it and make everyday livings meaningful or resist it and live as we have to die? ”.
