How to survive in hot weather in Da Nang?
Da Nang is a large city in Central Vietnam with a long coastline and beautiful mountains. The weather in Da Nang isn’t divided into four normal seasons but only two main seasons: the dry season and rainy season.
When does the hot weather in Da Nang begin
While from January to March, the weather in Da Nang is perfect with cool wind and not too much rain. Unfortunately, since Da Nang is in the monsoon tropical climate zone, the temperature continues to rise from April to May and reaches its peak in summer (from June to August). The temperature fluctuates from 33 degrees Celsius to 43 degrees Celsius. Moreover, when you go out at noon, the real feel temperature may sneak to more than 50 degrees Celsius.
Where to go during the hot summer
Da Nang is so popular among foreign tourists that summer is the most crowdest season here. If you don’t want the rain to ruin your trip and the heat doesn’t work on you, Da Nang is a fantastic summer destination. The long coastline with many beautiful beaches like My Khe Beach is where the locals come to escape from the hot weather in Da Nang. You will be able to refresh yourself with the wind whilst enjoying the breathtaking mountainous landscape. Since it’s a mountainous region, the temperature has never been more than 25 degrees Celsius.
How to survive during hot weather in Da Nang
Shorts and tank tops are the most comfortable combo during the hot weather in Da Nang. However, if you have been outsides long enough, you will see that most of the locals wearing long sleeves shirts or even the protection suits looking like a ninja. It seems hot at first, but those suit will protect them from the heat and UV rays. Here are other tips for the sticky weather.
- In hot weather, your body needs constant water supplementation. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty. Don’t drink alcoholic liquid because it may get your body thirstier. Cold drinks can cause stomach cramps
- Avoid being outdoors from 11 am to 2 pm. Relaxing in the shade during this period will help your body adapt to the temperature.
- Wear specialized clothes to protect your skin from harmful rays from the Sun.
- Greasy and spicy foods can make you feel hotter.
- Beaches in the afternoon are great but avoid it as well as other too much sunny places at noon.
